This course is being delivered under the Skills Connect Initiative. It is one of a series of programmes which Shannon Chamber Skillnet will deliver to assist:
- Individuals who are currently in receipt of PUP or TWSS payments
- Individuals currently unemployed or who became unemployed as a result of COVID-19
- Individuals who are not in employment and not in receipt of welfare payments.

Course Overview:
Our one-day Risk Management course has been designed for learners who are required to undertake risk assessments in the workplace. During the course, staff will be provided with a framework for carrying out risk assessments that can be used to reduce the risk of operational and organisational issues for the department or sector.
By the end of the course learners will have the skills and confidence needed to undertake risk assessments and prepare a risk management plan to foresee risks, estimate impacts, and define responses to issues.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course each learner will be able to:
• Appreciate the benefits of risk planning and assessment
• Understand the risk management process
• Have a step-by-step approach to identifying and analysing possible risks
• Have the tools needed to implement and document a successful risk assessment plan

• Understanding risk
• The need for risk management – why is it necessary?
• Risk management overview – definition of risks and risk categories
• Risk management strategies – Avoidance; Mitigation; Acceptance; Procurement; Contingency; Insurance;
• Documentation and responding to risks – the risk plan
• Closure of risks
