Interviewer Skills Workshop

This workshop is for business owners, team leaders, hiring managers and HR leaders who want to optimise their interviewing technique and hire great people for their business.

Identifying the right person for the role and your organisation requires you to ask great questions and evaluate each candidate’s interview answers using robust metrics. This workshop will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to design and conduct effective candidate interviews. The training is highly interactive and completed in small groups. We use case studies of live roles and frequently encountered scenarios to ensure it is of maximum relevance to you and your business.

Workshop Content

• Designing your Candidate Interview Planning Framework – ensuring objectivity and consistency
• Ensuring that Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is embedded into the interviewing process
• Asking great questions and probing candidate’s answers to get past the “prepared” or AI generated answers
• Being aware of the role Unconscious Bias can play in forming opinions and how to manage it
• Awareness of and incorporating key employment legislation issues into the interview process
• If interviewing on a panel, identifying the responsibilities of each panel member
• Taking notes throughout the interview, what to write and what not to write
• What to consider when interviewing candidates virtually rather than in person
• Reaching consensus and making a hiring decision
• Giving feedback to candidates following interview result

Resources and Notes

Participants are emailed a summary of the workshop slides and notes on the content. We also include templates for a suggested scoring rubric. Attendees will receive an online Certificate and Digital Badge upon completion of the Hilt Interview Training Workshop.

Sinead partners with organisations to deliver management training in recruitment and selection, employee engagement, and career development. With a deep understanding of the pressures organisations face when selecting candidates, Sinead also has extensive experience guiding job seekers and career changers to maximise their chances of securing their ideal roles. Since founding Hilt in 2008, she has worked with thousands of individual and corporate clients across more than 30 industries.

Sinead is a frequent contributor to national media outlets, including RTE and Newstalk, on career management topics. She also serves as a visiting lecturer at the University of Limerick, Technological University of the Shannon and London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) advising on career growth strategies.

Training Cancellation Policy: Training courses which are cancelled over 7 days in advance of scheduled training date shall incur no cancellation fee. Training courses which are cancelled within 7 days of scheduled training date shall incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the cost. Registrants who give less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend training will be charged 100% of the full fee.
