High Performance Manager Programme

DATE: December 2, 2026 - April 14, 2027

TIME: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

VENUE: Shannon, TBC,

Elite sport performance, built for your managers

Most managers are promoted because they deliver results. Few are then taught how to lead the people around them. The High-Performance Manager Programme closes that gap, applying how elite sport builds performance to how your managers lead.

Not another training course

Training changes what managers know. This programme changes what their teams experience. Shannon Chamber Skillnet has partnered with Uppercut, whose coaches work at the top of international sport, to help managers make the shift from expert-doer to a leader who builds capability in others.

The learning happens on the job, where it counts most.

  • One workshop day a month for five months. Each day builds one core leadership capability.
  • Practice in real work. Between sessions, managers apply what they learn to live challenges in your business, from leading a change to resetting their own team.
  • Line manager check-ins. After every module, each participant has a short conversation with their line manager, so the new behaviours stick.

What your managers build

Five leadership capabilities, one per module. Each replaces an old habit with a better default.

Module Date The shift
1. Leading Self Wednesday 2 December 2026 From reacting automatically to choosing the response that creates impact
2. Leading Change Wednesday 13 January 2027 From passing on ambiguity to creating shared meaning and direction
3. Leading High-Performing Teams Wednesday 10 February 2027 From micro-managing tasks to shaping purpose, roles and accountability
4. Leading with Trust Wednesday 10 March 2027 From avoiding tension to making conversations safe, honest and useful
5. Leading Performance Wednesday 14 April 2027 From fixing and telling to coaching ownership and capability

How you will know it worked

Each manager completes a 360° assessment before the programme and again 60 to 90 days after it, rated by the same colleagues. You see whether the people around them experience a different leader, not just whether they enjoyed the course.

Who delivers it

Uppercut brings elite sport into the boardroom. The team has designed and delivered manager programmes in tech, pharma, financial services, construction and hospitality, in Ireland and internationally.

  • Gary Keegan: Performance Coach to Ireland’s Senior Men’s Rugby Team and former Director of the Irish Institute of Sport.
  • Graham Shaw: led Ireland Women’s Hockey to the 2018 World Cup Final and coached New Zealand at the Tokyo Olympics.
  • Marie Power: organisational psychologist and Chair of Shannon Chamber’s Women in Leadership Network.
  • Jonathan Logue: executive coach, formerly of PwC, O2 and LinkedIn.
