OVERVIEW

HR Professionals, Business Owners and Managers are all too aware of the on-going challenges in the complex area of Employment Law and the challenges of its application within the workplace. This one-day intensive programme, as part of an Employment Law series of programmes, will address the fundamentals of Employment Law and practical steps on best practice and compliance in this area.

The programme will include fundamentals of Employment Law relating to:

·         Recruitment & Selection including Equality legislation

·         Contracts of Employment, relevant legislation and different types of contracts

·         Key Employment legislative requirements during the lifecycle of an Employee (Grievance, Equality legislation incorporating Bullying and Harassment, Absence Management, Organisation of Working Time Act, Policies & Procedures)

·         Termination of Employment including Disciplinary Procedures and Dismissal, the Costs, the Risks

·         Relevant case studies and recent case law will be integrated into the learnings

 

A full booklet of course content covered in the presentation material will be provided for personal use, note taking and as a point of future reference.

Time will be allocated at the end for a Q&A.

Speaker Profile
Sarah Fagan, BA, PGDip Employment Law, PGDip Conflict & Dispute Resolution Studies, is an experienced Human Resource and Employment Law practitioner involved in all manner of investigative and conciliation practices. She has extensive experience in Unionised environments having come from a background in Industrial Relations with one of Ireland’s largest secondary teachers union.

Training Cancellation Policy: Training courses which are cancelled over 7 days in advance of scheduled training date shall incur no cancellation fee. Training courses which are cancelled within 7 days of scheduled training date shall incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the cost. Registrants who fail to attend training will be charged 100% of the full fee.
