Course Aim: The aim of this First Aid Responder Refresher course is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be a First Aid Responder.

The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) have extended the recertification deadline to the 31st of July 2021. If your First Aid Response certificate ‘expiry date’ reads anytime since last March 2020, a Responder may complete the refresher course to maintain certification on or before 31st of July 2021.  Failure to do this, the Responder will need to re-sit the 3 day certification course.  

Course Overview & Content: 

PHECC has designed the First Aid Response (FAR) Standard to offer appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. This standard is designed to meet first aid and basic life support (BLS) requirements that a person known as “First Aid Responder” may encounter. The FAR Standard meets the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) requirement for occupational first aid training for the workplace.

Who should attend?

Any qualified First Aider that needs to be re-certified within the 2 year period as per PHECC guidelines.

Accreditation:

On successful completion of the course candidates will receive a PHECC First Aid Responder certificate.

Certificate Valid for 2 years.

Course Duration:  2 Days (9.30 – 16.30)

Venue: Oakwood Hotel, Shannon

Cost: €140 for Members / €160 for Non-Members  (Cost includes certification, lunch and refreshments)

Training Cancellation Policy: Training courses which are cancelled over 7 days in advance of scheduled training date shall incur no cancellation fee. Training courses which are cancelled within 3 days of scheduled training date shall incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the cost. Registrants who give less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend training will be charged 100% of the full fee.
