Yellow Belt Introduction

Problem-solving is one of the key factors to successful Lean implementation; sustaining a Lean transformation requires continuous problem-solving by everyone in the organisation. In the context of continuous improvement, it is a never-ending process. Our Yellow Belt training covers a suite of problem-solving tools which can be employed to increase profitability, lower costs and improve customer satisfaction.

Delivery Methodology

Delivered online over four half day sessions and supported with mentoring to deliver an in-company project.

Course Content

Session 1

  • Introduction to Lean Thinking
  • Overview of the 5 Principles
  • Value add v Non Value Add
  • 8 waste (TIMWOODS)

Session 2

  • Visual Management
  • 6S Workplace Organisation
  • PIT process (Tier 1 and 2)

Session 3

  • See the Problem
  • Introduction to DMAIC and 4C (Concern, Cause, Countermeasure and Check)
  • Define and Measure Tools (Problem Statement, Process Mapping, Check Sheets, Run/Control Charts

Session 4

  • Cause and Root Cause
  • Analyse Tools
  • Cause & Effect Diagram
  • 5 Whys
  • Improve and Control tools
  • Cause Countermeasure Sheet

Accreditation

This training course is recognised by the University of Limerick. Upon successful completion of the training, In Company Project and personal reflection, learners will be accredited with a level
7 micro-cred certificate worth 3 ECTS credits.

Training Cancellation Policy: Training courses which are cancelled over 7 days in advance of scheduled training date shall incur no cancellation fee. Training courses which are cancelled within 7 days of scheduled training date shall incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the cost. Registrants who give less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend training will be charged 100% of the full fee.
