DESCRIPTION:Who is this programme for?\n\nThe Professional Diploma in Finan
 cial Advice is a six-module level 7 qualification and is a must for all th
 ose pursuing a career in retail and business banking. It is the industry r
 ecognised\, premier designation qualification\, for financial advisers in 
 retail financial services in the Republic of Ireland. If you are a financi
 al adviser\, or wish to become one in the future\, then the Professional D
 iploma in Financial Advice will enhance the breadth and depth of your know
 ledge to provide consumers with sound professional advice.\n\nHow you ben
 efit\n\nOn successful completion of this programme and on attaining the re
 cognised professional designation QFA\, you will be able to:\n\n 	Provide 
 competent advice to consumers regarding the various loan offerings availab
 le\, the process involved and the implications of these offerings to consu
 mers\n 	Discuss the need for\, and types of\, retirement provision availab
 le and the regulation and restrictions on such provision\n 	Describe relev
 ant regulation that is used in the provision of financial services and the
  impact it has in this environment\n 	Explain the types of investment need
 s of consumers and the important issues arising as a result of these needs
 \n 	Provide competent advice to a consumer regarding their life assurance 
 needs and the implications of decisions they may make\n 	Use analytical sk
 ills to make recommendations to clients regarding financial planning\n\nTh
 is programme is offered in partnership with LIA and the Insurance Institut
 e.\n\nMinimum Competency Code\n\nHolders of the Professional Diploma in Fi
 nancial Advice are invited to apply for the Qualified Financial Adviser (Q
 FA) designation\, thereby meeting the Central Bank of Ireland’s Minimum 
 Competency Code for those who wish to sell\, advise on\, or undertake spec
 ified functions for the following five categories of retail financial prod
 ucts:\n\n 	Life Assurance\n 	Pensions\n 	Savings and Investments\n 	Housin
 g Loans\, Home Reversion Agreements and Associated Insurances\n 	Consumer 
 Credit Agreements and Associated Insurances\n\nContinued use of the QFA de
 signation is subject to meeting annual CPD requirements. The QFA designati
 on is overseen by the QFA Board\, which includes representatives from the 
 Institute of Banking\, the Insurance Institute and LIA.\n\nCurriculum\n\nS
 ix modules:\n\n 	Regulation (NFQ Level 7\, 5 ECTS)\n 	Life Assurance (NFQ 
 Level 7\, 5 ECTS)\n 	Loans (NFQ Level 7\, 5 ECTS)\n 	Investment (NFQ Level
  7\, 5 ECTS)\n 	Pensions (NFQ Level 7\, 5 ECTS)\n 	Financial Planning (NFQ
  Level 7\, 5 ECTS)\n\nAward\n\nWhen you successfully complete this program
 me you will be awarded a Professional Diploma in Financial Advice (level 7
 ) from UCD.\n\nAssessment\n\n 	Two-hour exams for each module at the end o
 f the semester\n 	The pass mark for each exam is 40%\n\nFor the modules Re
 gulation\, Life Assurance\, Loans\, Investment and Pensions modules\, the 
 exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions.\n\nFor the Financial Plann
 ing module\, the exam consists of written case-study and essay-style quest
 ions.\n\nEntry requirements\n\n 	The minimum second level educational requ
 irements for entry to the Professional Diploma in Financial Advice are as
  follows:\n-    Five passes in the Leaving Certificate\, including Engli
 sh and Mathematics\n-    Five O Level/GCSE passes\, including English La
 nguage and Mathematics.\nThe Institute will also consider applications on 
 a mature candidate basis from applicants who are 23 years of age before th
 e date of their application for admission to the programme.\n 	You must be
  a member of the Institute or become a member to do this programme\n\nTo e
 nroll in the Financial planning module\, candidates must have enrolled in\

 : Registrants who cancel over 7 days in advance of scheduled training dat
 e shall incur no cancellation fee. Registrants who cancel within 7 days of
  scheduled training date shall incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of th
 e cost. Registrants who give less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend t
