SUMMARY:Lunch &amp\; Learn: Human Error Prevention
DESCRIPTION:This is in-person session\n\nHuman Error Prevention (HEP) is a
thought process that encourages people to understand that Human Error is n
ever a true root cause for any issue. Starting from the concept that peopl
e do not actually want to make mistakes\, HEP provides learners with a too
lbox of skills and processes\, which allow them to systematically peel bac
k more layers of a problem\, uncovering the true Root Cause and empowering
them to implement permanent solutions.\n\nBy analysing these errors\, lea
rners will then use Lean techniques to prevent or minimise Human Error\, t
hrough an understanding of how the brain functions.\n\nThe CLS Human Error
Prevention course is designed for personnel with a role in solving proble
ms within their organisation. It is suitable for all levels and roles invo
lved in designing and/or using procedures in their work. As part of the Lu
nch and Learn session\, participants are introduced to CODE\, the 4 High L
evel Categories of Human Error: Competence\; Omission\; Decision\; Executi
on\, as well as a general overview of HEP and how CLS training addresses t
 his.\n\nPresenter\n\nChris Dawkins\n\n\n\nWith over 30 years’ experience
in industry\, Chris Dawkins is an integral member of the Crystal Lean Sol
utions training team. A Six Sigma Black Belt\, Chris began his career star
ted in the UK with engineering roles in the Ministry of Defence and the Na
tional Health Service\, before moving into industry as the Process Excelle
nce Manager in ABB Pumps and Quality Manager in Cartamundi. Aligned with h
is general Lean experience\, his core competencies include management of p
rojects using SCRUM methodology and Human Error prevention. He has present
ed at conferences on topics including Human Error Prevention\, and Lean in
Manufacturing\, leading workshops for the South East Technological Univer
sity. In 2021\, Chris was a member of the project delivery team for the in
