SUMMARY:General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Are you prepared for GDPR?\n\nThe General Data Protection Regul
 ation (GDPR) comes into force in May 2018. It is the latest development i
 n the current EU agenda to safeguard its citizens and their private infor
 mation. The GDPR introduces new rights for individuals and strengthens ex
 isting protections. This new regulation imposes stricter requirements on 
 all business activities involving data. Whether you are a data controller 
 or a data processor\, the GDPR will have a significant impact on your bus
 iness and the clock is ticking. The GDPR supersedes the existing Irish Da
 ta Protection Acts and expands\nthe obligations already in place. Regulat
 ory changes require prompt consideration and critical assessment by organ
 isations in order to understand their effects on business operations. Amen
 ded business practices\, supported by IT systems and operational processe
 s will be required to achieve compliance with this new regulation.\nWith 
 the data protection legal landscape evolving rapidly it presents many chal
 lenges for businesses\, government and public authorities\, in particular
  for consumer facing businesses\, online businesses\, those in the financ
 ial services sector or organisations in possession of sensitive personal 
 data. The potential severity of fines for data breaches and non-complianc
 e with regulation was significantly increased to €20 million or 4% of g
 roup turnover\, whichever is greater. Organisations will have to move quic
 kly to avoid potentially large fines for non-compliance. \n\nShannon Cha

 g existing case studies and in response to specific requirements of the at
 tendees\n 	Specific focus on some key areas such as Data protection Impact
  Assessments\, security breach notifications\, data asset inventories\, Da
 ta subject rights\,  and accountability\n\n&nbsp\;\nThis workshop is Free
