DESCRIPTION:This workshop will explore and address the best available evide
 nce base on learning and development in organisations.\n\nIt will give par
 ticular emphasis to the following:\n\n 	The business case for L&amp\;D. Wh
 at does the research tell us?\n 	Best in class  instructional design for 
 effective Learning and Development.\n 	Utilising a Blended Learning Strate
 gy to achieve L&amp\;D priorities and plans. What is the evidence?\n 	How 
 are L&amp\;D professionals responding to CV-19?  Key challenges\, opportu
 nities and priorities.\n 	How can we measure L&amp\;D effectiveness? How d
 oes and in what ways does L&amp\;D impact business performance?\n 	Develop
 ing you skill set as a L&amp\;D professional: What does the evidence tell 
 us about the most important skills in enhancing effectiveness?\n\nWhat you
  get?\n\nAll participants will receive a copy of Tom Garavan's recent rese
 arch outputs: two monographs on L&amp\;D roles on organisations and L&amp\
 ;D effectiveness.  Participants will also receive a copy of a landmark an
 alysis of studies investigating how and why L&amp\;D impacts the bottom li
 ne-business performance.\n\nThomas Garavan Bio:\n\nThomas Garavan is Profe
 ssor of Leadership Practice\, CUBS\, University College Cork . Prior to th
 at he was Research Professor Leadership\, Edinburgh Napier Business School
 \, Scotland\, and Professor of HRD at College of Business University of Li
 merick. He is Visiting Research Professor at National College of Ireland\,
  Dublin. He is co-editor of the European Journal of Training and Developme
 nt one the world leading learning and development journals and Associate E
 ditor of Personnel Review.  His research interests are in the areas of tr
 aining and instructional design\, learning and development roles and train
 ing effectiveness.  He is published widely in learning and development. H
 e is co-author of a leading textbook - Learning and Development in Organis
 ations: Strategy\, Evidence and Practice published by Oaktree Press in col
 laboration with the Irish Institute of Training and Development in 2020. H
 e has extensive practical and consultancy experience with leading firms wo
 rldwide and domestically including Stryker\, Dell Computers\, Teva\, Bausc
 h and Lomb\, Allied Irish Banks\, Chill Insurance and Fexco. He offers con
 sultancy expertise in training and instructional design\, competency devel
 opment\, leadership development and training evaluation.\n\n&nbsp\;\nThis
