SUMMARY:Emergency First Aid
DESCRIPTION:Our specifically developed and tailored course includes:\n\n 	A
 ssessment and accident scene management.  Personal protection. Legal impl
 ications of pre-hospital emergency care and dealing with stress.\n 	Types 
 of wounds\, dealing with external and internal bleeding including noseblee
 ds. Bandaging.\n 	Recognising and treating shock including anaphylaxis\n 	
 Treatment of burns\, scalds and sunburn\n 	Dealing with electrical injurie
 s\n 	Poisons including Carbon Monoxide poisoning\n 	Respiration\, asphyxia
  and child\, infant and adult choking (foreign body airway obstruction)\n 
 	Unconsciousness\, fainting\, skull\, head\, eye and facial injuries\, con
 cussion and compression.\n 	Recovery position for children\, infants and a
 dults.\n 	Fractures\, sprains\, strains and dislocations.\n 	CPR for child
 ren\, infants and adults\n 	Medical emergencies\, diabetes\, epilepsy\, as
 thma\, spinal injuries\n 	Infant emergencies\, meningitis\, dehydration\, 
 heat stroke\, febrile convulsions\, cold / hypothermia\, appendicitis\, hy
 perventilation\, ear injuries\, and tips to prevent medical errors.\n\nWe 
 allow ample time for students to practice and will not progress to a new t
 opic until we and students are satisfied that the appropriate standard has
  been met. We believe that students learn through interaction and so we ac
 tively promote discussion and questions from students.\n\nWe use one manik
 in per student when teaching the CPR element of the course so that student
 s have plenty of time to practice. Each student receives comprehensive cou
 rse notes\, a pocket mask\, and some other proprietary documentation inclu
 ding a CPR flowchart and a treatment record sheet to supplement their acci
